Homemade yogurt is delicious and inexpensive-and it's not difficult to make. Just follow these steps for a healthy treat. , a quart of milk, and a container of yogurt from the store. Check the label on the yogurt container. You need a yogurt with live cultures. First, thoroughly. (You don't want the wrong kind of bacteria growing in your yogurt.)

Remove a half cup of the fresh yogurt. You can use this to start your next batch. (Be sure that the spoon and the container are very clean.) Put the finished yogurt and the starter in the refrigerator to chill. You can enjoy your homemade yogurt in many ways. Use it for milkshakes or cooking. It goes fast, so don't forget—start your next batch before you run out!
